Last Updated: 10 April 2026 | Effective Date: 10 April 2026
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms carry the meanings set out below:
- "Legacy Forge", "we", "us", or "our" — Legacy Forge, a legal practice operating from 22 Jalan Trus, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia.
- "Service" — any of the three pension legal services described on this website, including Pension Scheme Document Analysis, Representation in Informal Pension Disputes, and Preparation of Pension-Related Letters of Instruction.
- "Client" or "you" — any person who engages Legacy Forge for the provision of a Service.
- "Website" — this website at legac.info.
- "Engagement" — the agreement between Legacy Forge and a Client for the provision of a specific Service.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website, submitting an enquiry, or engaging Legacy Forge for any Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use this website or engage our services. You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under Malaysian law.
3. Description of Services
Legacy Forge provides three discrete legal services relating to pension scheme matters:
- Pension Scheme Document Analysis (RM 1,680) — A written commentary on pension scheme documentation provided by the Client.
- Representation in Informal Pension Disputes (RM 2,240) — Written correspondence conducted on behalf of the Client in informal dispute situations.
- Pension-Related Letters of Instruction (RM 820) — Preparation of written letters of instruction for the Client's nominated recipients.
Services are available to persons located in Malaysia. We do not currently accept engagements from outside Malaysia unless expressly agreed in writing.
4. Commencement and Scope of Engagement
An Engagement commences only upon the written confirmation of scope, fees, and timelines by Legacy Forge. No obligation to perform any Service arises from the submission of a website enquiry. The scope of each Engagement is limited to what is agreed in writing at the outset. Work outside the agreed scope will be discussed with you before it is undertaken and may be subject to additional fees.
5. Fees and Payment
Fees for each Service are stated on this website in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). The applicable fee is confirmed in writing before any Engagement begins. Payment terms will be set out in the written confirmation of engagement. No Service work will commence before fee arrangements are agreed. Fees are non-refundable once the substantive work of an Engagement has been completed, unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by applicable law.
6. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide complete, accurate, and timely information and documentation relevant to your matter
- Notify Legacy Forge promptly of any change in circumstances that may affect the Engagement
- Use any commentary, letters, or correspondence produced by Legacy Forge only for the purposes for which they were prepared
- Not share, publish, or otherwise distribute work product produced by Legacy Forge without prior written consent
7. Acceptable Use of Website
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to use this website to transmit any material that is unlawful, defamatory, or harmful; to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system connected with this website; or to reproduce or distribute any content from this website without permission.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, layout, and design — is the property of Legacy Forge or its licensors and is protected by Malaysian copyright law. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to view and use this website for the purpose of considering or engaging our services. No other use is permitted without prior written consent. Commentary, letters, and other work product produced for a Client are provided for that Client's personal use in connection with the matter for which they were prepared.
9. Disclaimers
The commentary and correspondence produced by Legacy Forge is prepared with reasonable care and professional skill. It is, however, based on the documentation and information provided by you and on the law and practice as at the date of preparation. We do not warrant that our work product is free from all error or that it will produce any particular outcome. Nothing produced by Legacy Forge should be understood as a guarantee of any result.
This website is provided for general informational purposes. Content on this website does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied on as such.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Legacy Forge's total liability to you in connection with any Engagement shall not exceed the fee paid for the relevant Service. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss or damage arising from or in connection with the use of this website or the provision of any Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other matter that cannot be limited under Malaysian law.
11. Confidentiality
Legacy Forge will maintain the confidentiality of all information and documentation provided by you in connection with an Engagement. Information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, except where required by law, by a court order, or by our professional regulatory obligations. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further details of how personal data is handled.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate an Engagement by written notice. Where you terminate an Engagement after work has commenced, fees for work completed to the point of termination are due. Where Legacy Forge terminates an Engagement, reasonable notice will be given and fees for work not yet commenced will be returned. Legacy Forge reserves the right to decline or terminate any Engagement where, in its professional judgement, it would not be proper to continue.
13. Dispute Resolution
Where a dispute arises in connection with these Terms or any Engagement, the parties agree first to attempt to resolve it through direct written communication. If the matter cannot be resolved informally within thirty days, it shall be referred to mediation before any legal proceedings are commenced. These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Johor Bahru shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that proceeds to litigation.
14. General Provisions
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Legacy Forge in connection with this website and the engagement of our services, and supersede all prior representations and agreements. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. A waiver of any right under these Terms does not constitute a continuing waiver. These Terms may be updated from time to time; the version in force at the date of your Engagement applies to that Engagement.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Where material changes affect an ongoing Engagement, we will notify you directly. Continued use of this website following publication of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of those Terms for future use.
