WHAT CLIENTS SAY

Client accounts

"I had a folder of pension documents that had been sitting in a drawer for twelve years. I genuinely did not know what they said. The written commentary I received from Legacy Forge was clear, well-organised, and something I actually read rather than set aside. It answered questions I had not thought to ask."

"When my former employer failed to respond to three separate letters I had sent about my pension benefit calculation, I did not know where to turn. Legacy Forge took over the correspondence and the matter was resolved within six weeks. I would not have known how to write those letters myself."

"I engaged Legacy Forge to prepare letters of instruction for my children and for the administrator of my private pension scheme. The letters were drafted carefully and read exactly as I would have written them had I known how. The follow-up conversation was particularly useful — one of the letters needed a small adjustment that I had not anticipated."

"I appreciated that they did not suggest I needed more services than I did. I came with one question about my benefit entitlement on early retirement; they answered it in writing and did not expand the scope without asking. That restraint impressed me as much as the quality of the analysis."

"My situation involved a pension scheme from an employer whose ownership had changed hands twice. The scheme rules were a patchwork of amendments. The commentary Legacy Forge produced made sense of it for the first time, including a note about a clause I had not known existed that affected my nominated beneficiary."

"I am now in my early sixties and wanted my pension administration in order before I needed it. The letter of instruction service was exactly what I was looking for — straightforward, properly done, and completed without rushing. My children now have a clear document to follow if they ever need it."

SELECTED MATTERS

How three matters proceeded

DOCUMENT ANALYSIS · 2025
The situation

A client approaching voluntary early retirement held two separate private pension schemes — one from a current employer and one from a previous one. She was uncertain which would pay out at what age and whether she needed to take any action before leaving her current position.

What we did

We reviewed all available documentation for both schemes and produced a consolidated written commentary explaining the relevant provisions for each, including the notice periods and elections that applied under each set of rules.

The outcome

The client was able to make her retirement decision with a clear understanding of both schemes' terms. She identified an election that needed to be made within a specific window — which she would not otherwise have known about. Fee: RM 1,680. Timeline: eleven working days.

DISPUTE REPRESENTATION · 2025
The situation

A client received a benefit calculation from his former employer's pension administrator that appeared significantly lower than his own estimate. Several letters he had sent were acknowledged but not substantively answered over a period of four months.

What we did

We wrote a formal but temperate letter requesting the specific calculation basis and documentary support for the figure provided. When the response was incomplete, we wrote a second letter identifying the remaining gaps clearly and requesting a full written response within a stated period.

The outcome

A full response was received within three weeks of the second letter. The administrator acknowledged a calculation error and revised the benefit figure upward. The client's preference throughout — not to escalate further than necessary — was observed. Fee: RM 2,240. Timeline: seven weeks.

LETTERS OF INSTRUCTION · 2026
The situation

A retired professional wished to ensure his two adult children and his pension administrator were each in possession of a clear written instruction covering what should happen to his pension entitlement should he become incapacitated. He had a will in place but nothing that specifically addressed his pension.

What we did

We prepared three letters — one for each child and one for the administrator — each drafted for the specific reader and the specific action required of them. The letters were reviewed with the client over two sessions before being finalised.

The outcome

The client held the letters alongside his will and lasting power of attorney. During the follow-up conversation he identified a change in his nominated beneficiary that he had not updated with the administrator, which the letter service prompted him to address separately. Fee: RM 820. Timeline: nine working days.
